Overview
As the demand for personally customized products rises, custom-made cakes have had an upsurge in popularity. However, current reservation systems pose a challenge for most users, making it difficult to compare prices, designs, and pickup schedules effectively.
To address this, I have designed a user-friendly reservation system to enhance user experience.
The Problem
In the custom cake market, users often face challenges with reservation systems that make it difficult to compare options and coordinate pickups. Additionally, the absence of a reliable review system can leave customers without the necessary insights to make informed decisions.
01
Difficulty in Comparing Prices and Designs
How can we simplify the comparison of prices and designs for users seeking custom cakes?
02
Inefficient Pickup Schedule Coordination
How can we enhance the efficiency of coordinating pickup schedules for customers?
03
Lack of Honest Reviews
How can we ensure the provision of honest reviews in our reservation system?
The Solution
I aim to simplify custom cake reservations with this app by providing straightforward comparisons, flexible scheduling, and trustworthy reviews to enhance decision-making.
01
Transparent Comparison
Enables users to easily compare cake options side-by-side on pricing and design.
02
Flexible Pickup Scheduling
Offers a real-time scheduling tool for users to conveniently arrange and visualize pickup times.
03
Review & Rating Feature
Establishes a verified feedback system to ensure genuine customer reviews for trust and decision-making
The goal
The project goal is to streamline the custom cake booking process through an app that offers easy comparison, flexible scheduling, and reliable reviews, facilitating better and quicker decision-making for customers.
User research
The desk research reveals a surge in cake sales, with 35,000 units sold, a 223% increase from the previous year. This spike is driven by Generation Z's preference for unique and exclusive cakes that reflect their personal identity, resulting in a highly positive market response.
I used the SWOT analysis for a comparative analysis, selecting Instagram and Idus as the platforms to evaluate their market strengths and opportunities.
define
Based on the research conducted, I have developed a concrete persona. This persona represents the target customers, reflecting key insights and characteristics identified through the study.
define
I created a journey map based on the persona, detailing each stage of the customer's experience. This allowed me to identify specific pain points and opportunities at various points in the journey.
define
I created an Information Architecture that enhances user experience by intuitively organizing features for efficient navigation.

prototype
Using the Pretendard and Spoqa Hans Sans Neo font family, I have optimized the typography for this project. By applying different fonts to text and numbers, I aimed to create a balanced visual effect.
To convey the cheerful and joyful essence associated with cakes, mint green was chosen as the primary colour, accompanied by the contrasting secondary colour, pink.
prototype
I was able to create wireframes that balance user needs with functionality to ensure an intuitive and efficient platform. From straightforward login and sign-up processes to an easily navigable cake selection and scheduling interface, each step is designed for clarity and ease.
prototype
For visual consistency, a design system was created, using unified components to design the screens.
Final Product
Design solution
I created the final design to ensure compliance with the design system for a seamless user experience.

Key Takeaways
KEKI KEKI was the first mobile app I’ve ever designed. It was a rewarding journey and I learned a lot along the way in both design thinking and technical skills.
In the next phase, my focus will shift towards designing an engaging onboarding experience and developing additional features for the app. A key aspect of this will be to consider the user experience from the perspective of the interpreter, ensuring their needs are met effectively. Additionally, I plan to create micro-interactions to enhance the fluidity and intuitiveness of the user interface, making the app more user-friendly and enjoyable to navigate.
01
No Reference
The absence of comparable platforms presented a primary challenge for KEKI KEKI. Without industry benchmarks, I had to develop a user experience tailored to the new needs of custom cake ordering, and design its interface intuitively.
02
Chat Feature
The key to KEKI KEKI's user experience was the development of a seamless chat feature. The challenge lay in creating a conversation flow that was as natural and effortless as speaking directly with a baker, which required a careful balance of simplicity and functionality in the chat design.
